The Grace Memorial Story: A Legacy of Care

Kyle Schieweck and Craig Baxter joined forces after both beginning their careers at Kaatz Funeral Home. Together with a dedicated team of professionals, they set out to build a network of funeral homes rooted in compassion and excellence.

The journey began with the acquisition of the Smith Family Funeral Home in Port Huron, establishing the first chapter of Grace Memorial. As the demand for their caring service grew, the team constructed a modern new facility in Clinton Township to better serve families in Macomb County.

Expansion continued with the acquisition of the respected Bower Rose Funeral Home in Marine City. Driven by a vision for meaningful celebrations of life, the team then built a state-of-the-art Life Celebration Center in Kimball Township — an 11,000-square-foot facility designed for personalized tributes.

Most recently, Grace Memorial acquired the Kaatz Funeral Homes in Richmond and Mt. Clemens, returning to the very roots where many team members first learned the profession.

Today, Grace Memorial Funeral Homes stands as a locally owned network across St. Clair and Macomb counties. What makes it all possible is a committed team working together with professionalism, empathy, and a shared commitment to supporting families with grace during their time of need.
